Cristina “Nina” Hernandez served as an enlisted Geospatial Intelligence analyst in the U.S. Army. She deploying to Iraq in 2005 as part of an interrogations team at Abu Ghraib and constantly volunteered for convoy missions. After leaving the Army, Nina became a defense contractor. She has supported JIEDDO, specialized in counter-IED mission sets, and currently supports the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). She deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 as a defense contractor in support of NGA, providing GEOINT products primarily for special mission units. Her brother was in 160th SOAR. Nina obtained a Bachelor’s in Political Science from UNLV, is currently pursuing a Mid-Career Master of Public Administration at HKS, and seeks to transition from analysis/SME roles to policy/decision making within the defense intelligence community.
